Albendazole (एल्बेन्डाजोल)

Albendazole एउटा broad-spectrum anti-parasitic medicine हो जुन मुख्यतया intestinal worms (कीरा/पारासाइट) र अन्य parasitic infections हरुका लागि प्रयोग हुन्छ। यो WHO द्वारा recommend गरिएको medicine हो र धेरै countries मा over-the-counter वा prescription बाट उपलब्ध हुन्छ।

Uses / प्रयोग:

• Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides)

• Hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus)

• Tapeworms (Taenia species)

• Giardia infections

• Hydatid disease (rare cases)

How it works / कार्य गर्ने तरिका:
Albendazole parasite को glucose absorption block गर्छ, जसले गर्दा parasite को energy supply रोकिदिन्छ र parasite मर्छ।

Dosage / मात्रा:

• Children (2–12 years): सामान्यतया 400 mg single dose

• Adults: 400 mg single dose, some infections require repeat dose after 2 weeks

Note: Always follow doctor’s advice for dosage and duration.

Side Effects / संभावित असरहरू:

• Mild: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain

• Rare: headache, dizziness, liver function changes

Generally well tolerated for short-term treatment

Precautions / सावधानी:

• Pregnancy: Avoid in first trimester

• Liver disease: Use under medical supervision

• Interactions: Can interact with other anti-parasitic or liver-metabolized medicines

• Room temperature (15–30°C)
